A Bit About Me

I started writing at the age of five, when I produced my first book, which consisted of about six pages of illegible handwriting. Now I am writing my first novel, The Fairest Heart, a retelling of the Grimm Brothers’ Snow White with other traditional German fairy tales mixed in, to be published in December 2025. I currently attend university, majoring in English and teaching English as a second language (TESL). I hope to work with second-language English learners while writing part-time.

When not writing, I am usually studying the Bible and theology, reading fairy tales from around the world, trying to learn Spanish to make my Cuban abuela proud, baking cakes that flop, battling the morning glory invading my vegetable garden, wandering the woods or sewing historically-accurate dresses. My favorite books include War and Peace, All the Light We Cannot See, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, The Lord of the Rings, and Anna Karenina.
