The Moon Lullaby

The world has turned from sun

The light is dead and gone

But cry ye not my little one

For once more it will come

Till then rest your eyes in peace

Lay your head on fur and fleece

For come the moon to arise

In soft light given to soothe our eyes

Fear not monster that lurks at dark

Nor the night hawk you shall not hark

Nor the snow so cold and stark

Nor the wolf’s ravenous bark

For light in the sky to guide your way

As rest ye now from work and play

In moonlight’s arms at night ye lay

Till Morningstar doth greet the day

Rest ye now in silvery light

Have no anxious thought nor fright

And every nightmare now take flight

For in the moon all is made right.
